The death of the popular comic actor, and Nigerian movie veteran, Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as “Baba Suwe” occurred on Monday, November 22nd 2021. The demise of the movie star was announced by his son, Adesola, just few hours after his death.
In his statement:
“This is to announce the sudden death of my father, Mr. Babatunde Omidina. The legend, and rare gem “Babasuwe” 11/22/21. Other details will follow shortly. May your soul rest in perfect peace dad. Signed: Adesola Omidina”
Baba Suwe was born on August 22, 1958, in Inabare street in Lagos Island where he grew up. He originally hailed from the Ikorodu area of Lagos state.

Baba Suwe started acting in 1071, but he came into limelight after he featured in a movie titled Omolasan, a film produced by Obalande.
He became more popular after he featured in Iru Esin, a movie produced by Olaiya Igwe in 1997.
The late Baba Suwe himself, has featured and produced several Nigerian movies such as Baba Jaiye jaiye.
