THE SHENANIGANS OF A DROWNING MAN: WHY THE ATTACK ON THE ORJIS EXPOSES THE EMPTINESS IN IKWUANO/UMUAHIA

When a man has no river to show, he complains about the source of another man’s river. That is the tragedy of the incumbent representation of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency. Drowning, desperate, and without a single achievement to place on the table, he has reached for his oldest weapon: manipulation. And his target is the Orji family. It is woeful. It is laughable. It is the classic sign of a man whose political boat has capsized.
THE MANIPULATIVE SCRIPT OF A FAILED TERM
We have seen this script before. When the people begin to ask, “What have you done in three years?” you quickly shout, “Orji! Orji! Orji!” You hope that by demonizing a family, the people will forget that you have abandoned them. It is deceit as a political tool, and Ndi Ikwuano/Umuahia are now too wise for it.
IS LOYALTY A CRIME?
Is it the Orjis’ fault that between 1999 and 2007, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Theodore Ahamefule Orji was found worthy to serve as Chief of Staff to the Governor? When an appointor finds a man diligent, loyal, organized, and useful, does he not go for him? T.A. Orji did not appoint himself. He was appointed because he distinguished himself. Is loyalty now a sin in Ikwuano/Umuahia?
THE PEOPLE’S MANDATE IS NOT A FAMILY GIFT
After serving meritoriously, Chief T.A. Orji stepped forward. Elections are like marketing, you bring your product to the people and the people decide to buy or not to buy. In 2006/2007, the Progressive People’s Alliance, PPA, conducted its governorship primaries. T.A. Orji won. Not by inheritance, but by the people’s mandate. He then won the general election. What is the mortal sin in a man winning a primary and winning an election?
THE SENATE: DEMOCRACY SPOKE AGAIN
After eight years as Governor, with schools built, hospitals equipped, and a state stabilized from political turmoil, the same T.A. Orji democratically sought the mandate of the people to represent Abia Central Senatorial District. The people of Ikwuano, Umuahia North, Umuahia South, Isiala Ngwa North, Isiala Ngwa South and Osisioma gave it to him in 2015. They renewed it in 2019. Where did T.A. Orji go wrong? By asking the people and the people saying yes?
CHINEDUM ORJI: DID HE STEAL THE BALLOT?
Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji in 2015 sought the mandate of Umuahia Central State Constituency. The ballot was cast. The people gave it to him. What is the name of the offence? In 2019, he sought it again. The people gave it again and made him Speaker of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly. Is contesting election now a crime? Is winning election with your people’s votes now a family sin?
THE HYPOCRISY THAT STINKS TO THE HIGH HEAVENS
Here is the hypocrisy of the incumbent representation: He who benefits from democracy is now preaching against democracy. He contested election, won election, and is in Abuja today because democracy allows sons of nobody to become somebody. Yet he wants to tell Umuahia Central that they had no right to elect Chinedum Orji. He wants to tell Abia Central that they had no right to elect T.A. Orji. If election is a sin for the Orjis, why is it not a sin for him?
A MAN WHO LIVES IN A GLASS HOUSE
The incumbent shouts about family, but forgets that politics everywhere is about political families, political structures, and continuity. Everywhere in the world, from America to Umuahia, mentorship produces successors. If your own leader today gave you a platform, should we call it dynasty? This is a man who lives in a glass house and throws stones.
WOEFUL ANTICS OF A MAN WITHOUT SCORECARD
His antics are woeful. Instead of telling us how many motions he has moved for MOUAU, he is telling us about Orji. Instead of showing us the federal jobs he attracted to Ibeku, Ohuhu, Oboro, Oloko, he is busy doing DNA analysis of a political family. Ndi Ikwuano/Umuahia did not send you to Abuja to become a genealogist. They sent you to be a legislator.
THE ORJI RECORD IS THE HURRICANE HE FEARS
He attacks the Orjis because he fears the Orji record. As Governor, T.A. Orji gave Umuahia a true capital status. As Speaker, Chinedum Orji built roads in Umuahia and Ikwuano that Federal allocation never built. As representative, Chinedum Orji kept his constituency office open and funded. That record is the hurricane that will sweep away mediocrity in 2027.
LIES AS A MANIFESTO
When deceit becomes a manifesto, failure is already written. The drowning representative has no second term message. No first term was ever felt. So his only message is: “Do not vote Orji because his father was Chief of Staff.” How hollow. How pedestrian. The people of Ikwuano/Umuahia want infrastructure, not innuendo.
THE PEOPLE HAVE OUTGROWN BLACKMAIL
Ndi Ikwuano/Umuahia have outgrown emotional blackmail. You cannot blackmail a people who have been neglected. You cannot gaslight youths who have no jobs while you brandish Orji’s name. They have used Orji’s name to win relevance before, it will not work again. The people now ask: what did YOU do?
THE QUESTION HE CANNOT ANSWER
Ask him: How many town halls have you done in the three LGAs? Zero. How many federal projects have you attracted to Umuahia, the capital city? Zero. How many bills for the economic emancipation of Ikwuano/Umuahia? Zero. That is why he needs Orji’s name, to fill the zero with noise.
EMANCIPATION IS COMING
But emancipation is coming. History teaches that when manipulation reaches its peak, revolution is near. Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency is tired. Tired of absent representation. Tired of Facebook governance. Tired of a man who fights a family because he cannot fight for his constituency.
CHINEDUM ORJI AS THE HURRICANE OF 2027
And in that tiredness, the people have found their champion. Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji is not just a candidate, he is a hurricane of emancipation. A hurricane that will sweep away lies with facts. A hurricane that will replace deceit with deeds. A hurricane that understands that Umuahia is a state capital and must be treated like one.
THE COMPACT WITH THE PEOPLE
Orji’s compact is simple: give Ikwuano/Umuahia a loud voice in the Green Chamber. Bring federal presence back. Secure the capital city agenda. Create opportunities for youths. Open the doors of representation again. That is why the people are moving towards him, not because of his surname, but because of his service.
DROWNING MEN CLUTCH AT STRAWS
Drowning men clutch at straws, and the incumbent is clutching at the Orji straw. But the Orji family is not a straw, it is a tree with deep roots in Umuahia soil. You cannot uproot it with lies. You can only expose yourself as desperate.
THE VERDICT OF DEMOCRACY
Democracy has already judged the Orjis fairly. The Orjis contested, the people voted. That is democracy. If the incumbent believes the people made a mistake by voting them repeatedly, let him say it clearly that the people of Abia Central and Umuahia Central are fools. He will not say it, but his actions say it.
THE PEOPLE WILL CHOOSE REDEMPTION
In 2027, Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency will choose. They will choose between a failed present that campaigns with lies against a family, and a promising future that campaigns with its own record. Between manipulation and emancipation. Between a drowning man and a man who knows how to rescue others.
SUMMARY: THE FUTURE IS ORJI
Let the incumbent continue his woeful antics. Let him manufacture more lies. Ndi Ikwuano/Umuahia have chosen. They have chosen to reject the politics of envy and embrace the politics of evidence. They have chosen Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, Ikukuoma Abia, to lead the hurricane of emancipation that will reclaim Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency in 2027. That is the people’s answer to deceit: Redemption.
