OHUHU FLYERS: YOUR RAZZMATAZZ SENT KANU TO PRISON, WE WILL NEVER FORGET

Constituents of Ikwuano Umuahia Federal Constituency, particularly from Obi Aguocha’s own Ohuhu bloc, have spoken in the language he understands. Flyers. Bold letters. Direct message: “Your inexperience and social media razzmatazz caused Mazi Nnamdi Kanu woes. Mazi was having a good case in the courts until you got involved and sent him to prison. We will never forget.”
That is not from opposition. That is from home. That is discontent. That is disconnect. And it shows the price of using Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for political capital.
THE FLYERS THAT SHOCKED OHUHU
Ohuhu is Aguocha’s stronghold. When flyers emerge from your stronghold accusing you of harming the very cause you claim to champion, it is not mere protest, it is rejection. The flyers did not talk about roads, they talked about Kanu. They said inexperience and razzmatazz made his case worse.
THE TIMELINE THE PEOPLE REMEMBER
Nnamdi Kanu had a good case in court. Appeal Court had discharged him in October 2022. Legal window was opening. Then came the era of Facebook Live from detention facility, press conferences, social media noise claiming credit for access. Lawyers warned that publicity could prejudice federal charges of terrorism and treasonable felony. The people of Ohuhu watched. Then came conviction to life imprisonment. To them, razzmatazz turned hope to woes.
WHY THE PEOPLE SAY RAZZMATAZZ FAILED
Razzmatazz fails because everything is not about noise. Federal matters of this magnitude demand diplomacy and negotiation, not camera. It demands engagement with Attorney General under Section 174, with Presidency, with National Security architecture, not with comment section. Ohuhu constituents understand this, that is why their flyers said inexperience caused it.
USING KANU FOR POLITICAL CAPITAL BACKFIRED
The calculation was simple: use Kanu’s name as campaign poster for 2027. But Ohuhu people asked: did Kanu authorize you? Did quiet diplomacy of South East Governors, South East Caucus, Deputy Speaker not warn that quiet engagement was needed? When you use a detained man’s ordeal for political capital without result, his own people will eventually call you out.
THE DISCONTENT IS DEEPER THAN FLYERS
The flyers are just paper. The discontent is deeper. It is the mother in Ohuhu whose child learns in Mbator Primary School ruins. It is the youth who asked for scorecard and got list of non-existent projects including Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene road that belongs to Federal Ministry of Works and NNPC Tax Credit Scheme. It is Reuben Onuoha’s question still unanswered.
OHUHU SAYS: WE WILL NEVER FORGET
“We will never forget” is not threat, it is memory. Igbo people do not forget when you trade on their son’s incarceration and deliver prison instead of freedom. They do not forget when you promise heaven and earth on Mbator Primary School ground and leave it shouting like blood of Abel.
THE FAILURE OF NOISE OVER NEGOTIATION
Negotiation requires ranking, network, confidentiality. Noise requires data and ring light. Ohuhu flyers have made the distinction clear: noise sent Kanu to prison, negotiation could have brought political solution. That is why constituents are disconnected. They wanted a negotiator, they got a broadcaster.
THE IRONY OF HOME REJECTION
It is one thing for Ikwuano to reject you. It is another for Ohuhu, your own domain, to print flyers against you. That shows the sentiment strategy has collapsed. Reducing 2027 to Kanu sentiment was infantile and puerile, but now even the owners of that sentiment in Ohuhu say your handling worsened his woes.
WHAT OHUHU WANTS NOW
Ohuhu wants a federal representative who knows federal matters are not decided on Facebook. Who knows terrorism charge is not a content for likes. Who knows political settlement is negotiated behind closed doors, not advertised for clout. Their flyers are demand for maturity.
CONCLUSION: PEOPLE AGAINST RAZZMATAZZ
The flyers have drawn the battle line: Obi Aguocha against the people of Ohuhu. Not opposition against him, but his own bloc against his method. They say inexperience and social media razzmatazz caused Mazi Nnamdi Kanu woes. Mazi was having a good case until you got involved. We will never forget. 2027 will be their answer.
