The Executive Chairman of Isiala South LGA in Abia State, and ALGON Chairman, Hon. Emetumba Ike Anyatonwu, has flagged off road grading in all the 18 ABSIEC political Wards in Isiala Ngwa South LGA. He said the project is to ameliorate the sufferings the people of the area do encounter with bad roads.
Ike Anyatonwu made the disclosure on Monday, 5tj December 2022 during the flagging off of the Mgbedeala/Mbutu road in Ward 1, Isiala Ngwa South. He said the move is in response to the yearnings of the people, adding that they need accessible road to take their farm produce to Ngwo-Okpu for marketing.
The ALGON chairman evealed that the road is strategic and a whole lot of rural dwellers will benefit from it when completed. He stressed that, as a man in government, he owes the people an obligation to grade roads that will aid in free flow of movement of people and goods.
Ike Anyatonwu, who used the opportunity to commend the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party for Isiala Ngwa South LGA in the House of Assembly, Mr Roland Chinwendu Dennis, said he has shown enough courage, maintaining that he is not contesting election with anybody.
He said all PDP candidates in the State, will clinch seats in the forthcoming elections, insisting that the party has shown enough capacity in piloting the affairs of the State while taking a dig at those who left the PDP and joined other mushroom political parties.
The Isiala Ngwa South LG Chairman used the opportunity to remind those who left the party that time was running out, informing that the PDP will be magnanimous enough to accept them back into the fold.

Speaking while flagging off the Mgbedeala/Mbutu road, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP for Isiala Ngwa South LGA in the House of Assembly, Mr Roland Chinwendu Dennis, applauded Comrade Emetumba Ike Anyatonwu for showing capacity over the years.
He said he has trained and brought a whole lot of youth into the fold, revealing that as a young politician, he has learnt a lot from his style of leadership, adding that his kind is rare in this clime.
Mr Dennis prayed for hitch-free road grading, while calling for the co-operation of the people of the Ward.
On her part, Hon. Mrs Love Onyebuchi, Councilor representing Amaise Ama Isi Aha, said she is happy to witness the flag off, commending Comrade Emetumba Ike Anyatonwu for having a listening ear to the plight of the people.
In their separate speeches, The Village Head Mgbedeala community, Samuel Onwukwe, and Chairman, Ward 1, Hon. Erondu Onyekachi, appreciated Emetumba for informing them of his activities just as they commended him for his efforts at linking up rural areas in Isiala Ngwa South with one another.
They pledged to vote for the candidates of the People’s Democratic Party in the 2023 general election, stating that with what they have seen on ground, they owe them their votes come 2023.
