With the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) on the verge of commencing the next football season, various clubs took to the transfer market to strengthen their squad by recruiting new signings. Kwara United is not left out as the club has recently recruit the service of a Brazilian winger, Lucas Alves.
The 25 years old Brazillain winger was unveiled on Monday, October 5 2020 at the club’s secretariat inside the stadium in Ilorin, Kwara state. He agreed on a one-year contract with the intent of winning the next NPFL title for the club.
Looking at his footballing career so far, Lucas started playing in his home country for clubs like Corinthians and Pao De Acucar before moving to America. In the United States, Lucas played for Seahorses Los Angeles where he was impressive before leaving the club in December 2019.
He then traveled to Greece with the hopes of signing a deal, but Lucas Alves only spent one month and returned to America after being called by Chicago Fire. The current pandemic made him not to sign for the club before he returned to his home country, Brazil.
He then received a call from Kwara United which he was delighted with to okay for the club because of his love for Africans.
By the end of the next NPFL season, we will see if his dreams will be actualized.
