The Association of Online Media Practitioners of Nigeria (OMPAN), Abia State Chapter, is already preparing for the forthcoming 2019 election as she sets to hold he first pre-election debates for aspirants of different political offices in the state. This information was made known by the Chairman of Abia State Chaper of the Association, Comrade Ugochukwu Nwankwo.
As revealed by Comrade Ugochukwu to all members of OMPAN, Abia State Chapter, the proposed debate will have in attendance; Governorship, Senatorial, and House of Assemble flag bearers that will emerge from the 3 major political parties in the state – PDP, APC, and APGA, after the forthcoming primary elections.

Solely organised by OMPAN, Abia State chapter, the programs is expected to be the first of its kind, and the best aspirant will be given the opportunity to unveil a sneak peak of their various manifestos and what they will have to offer when voted into power in Abia State.
Comrade Nwanwko also stress the need for this debate, according to him “The debates will give the people of the state (Abians) and Nigeria at large the opportunity to know what the aspirants has to offer”
He also urged Abians and Nigerians as a whole to follow up the debate as it will be aired on some National Television stations (though yet to be announced). Also social media enthusiasts are urged to follow it up on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook with the hash tag; #OMPANAbiaDebates2019.
The venue for Governorship and Senatorial debates is Damgrete Hotels Hall, Umuahia, in the capital of Abia State. The exact date for the debate will be revealed after the primary elections.
