The gubernatorial candidate of the Action People’s Party (APP) in Abia state, Mascot Uzor Kalu, has declared that he is the most competent, and experienced candidate for the 2023 Abia Guber election when compared to candidates of other political parties in the state. He made this known during a media chat with newsmen at the party secretariat in Umuahia on Friday, 25th November 2022.
While revealing his twenty-six (26) actionable policies and programs he has for the state if elected, Mascot Uzor Kalu explained that the APP political party came into existence because he felt there is a vacuum in Abia state that needs to be filled up. He highlighted that the party’s actionable policies and programs are achievable, and Abians will benefit from them if he is elected as the governor of Abia state come 2023.
Speaking about his capacity, and why he stands out from the other candidates, the APP guber candidate said;
“I am the most experienced. While other guber candidates need to pass through a learning curve, I do not need to pass through such process because I already served as a Chief of Staff in the state from as far back as 15 years ago. Abia needs a governor like me because I have experience in governance, and I am also a good businessman”.
While revealing further of his plans, Mascot said that if elected as governor of the state, his government will generate ten thousand (10,000) jobs every year, making it a total of forty thousand (40,000) jobs in his first four years as governor.
He exclaimed: “In Abia state, a lot of young graduates are jobless. Part of the responsibilities of the government is to reduce the unemployment rate”.
The APP Governorship candidate hinted that as a businessman and politician, he has planned strategies to revive moribund companies in Abia state like: Coca-Cola, Modern Ceramics among others by partnering with businessmen in the State to carry it out. He also said he will invest heavily in Aba, which is one of the major revenue-generating hubs of the state.
