Important Update on the Colours of Ballot Boxes

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released update on the colours of ballot boxes with the description of various offices to be voted for.

The Ballot box for the Presidential votes is red, that of the Senate is black, while the House of Representative is Green. Please all eligible voters across Nigeria should take note of this s the three elections will be going on simultaneously on the 23rd of March 2019.

As at 8am today, the incumbent president of Nigeria, President Muhammad Buhari and his wife Aisha has already casted their votes in their home town, Daura in Katsina State.

Buhari Won With a Landslide Victory in Senator Akpabio’s Unit

President Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has won in the polling unit of Sen. Godswill Akpabio in Akwa Ibom.

Akpabio, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor of AkwaIbom and former senate Minority Leader, defected to the APC and is currently the APC senatorial candidate for Akwa Ibom North West.

Buhari got 1553 votes to win his closest opponent in the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who polled 11 votes in Ukana West 2, unit 9, Essien Udim Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom, Akpabio’s unit.

In the senatorial election result, Akpabio won in the unit with 1533 votes while the PDP senatorial candidate, Chris Ekpenyong got 4 votes.

Buhari Looses in Aso Rock as Atiku was also defeated in His Polling Unit

Buhari, indeed, won the election in his polling unit (PU) by 523 votes as against his main challenger, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 3.

Meanwhile, the PDP presidential candidate was defeated by Buhari in his polling unit in Adamawa State by 186 votes to 167. Atiku, however, defeated Buhari in Aso Rock Presidential Villa in the two polling units for those living in the Presidential Villa.

Buhari also defeated Atiku at the polling unit of former President Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital. While APC secured 87 votes in the presidential election, the PDP got just 18 votes.
