*The attention of the Chief Eric Opah Campaign Organisation has been drawn to a concocted open letter written by a fictitious character “Don Nmeregini”, obviously used as a pseudo front by desperate individuals who are uncomfortable with the growing acceptance of Chief Eric Opah as a credible alternative for Abia State governor.
*Those behind the letter clearly failed to understand the difference between permanent political endorsement and logical opposition based on issues.
*The Chief Eric Opah Campaign Organisation wishes to state clearly that politics should not be reduced to bitterness, smear campaigns, and personal attacks. The urgent need to rescue Abia from slow development and place the state on the path of rapid infrastructural and economic growth is far more important than distractions and propaganda.
*Our campaign will remain issue-based, driven by facts and focused on verifiable data, not character assassination.
*Chief Eric Opah will always commend good policies and projects of any government where necessary, while also speaking boldly against underperformance, mismanagement, waste and snail speed development, when the resources for faster progress are available.
*Abia pensioners want the reversal of their forfeited entitlements. Abia workers deserve improved salaries and better welfare. Overinflation of contract costs must stop. Contract awards must follow due process and open bidding. Competent local contractors should be given priority where they can deliver quality jobs at competitive rates. Youth employment, investment, and economic opportunities must also be encouraged.
*The above, are the real issues Chief Opah is focused on as the credible alternative, not unnecessary political distractions.
*Chief Eric Opah is a refined gentleman who understands that appreciating a good project by a sitting government does not make anyone a political slave. Politics should not be driven by hatred and permanent enmity just to prove opposition credentials.
*The era of bitter politics is outdated. Modern politics, which Chief Opah epitomises is about ideas, performance, constructive criticism, and offering better alternatives for the people.
*As for the allegations concerning contracts with the Abia State Government, those making such claims should provide evidence instead of relying on gossip, assumptions, and social media propaganda. Chief Opah is a successful businessman with a well-structured company employing over 2,000 direct staff and many more indirectly.
*Attempts to scare away serious contenders using propaganda will not succeed. Chief Eric Opah is a man of character, courage, and strong conviction. He will not bow to bitter propagandists whose only strategy is division and internal sabotage.
*2027 presents Abians with a defining opportunity to move beyond “doing better” at snail speed and demand rapid excellent performance with measurable results. Achieving this will require unity, strategy, courage and broad political cooperation.
*Those hiding behind anonymous smear campaigns are advised to desist immediately. The mission to rescue and reposition Abia State is greater than their personal interests and political bitterness.
