As 2027 approaches, Ikwuano and Umuahia North and South deserve answers, not insults — but they also deserve to know who is asking questions and why a man who cannot show one project in Ohuhu is asking a man who built many how he built them.

The op-ed by Comr Nwamara Emmanuel says “If projects are genuine, let records speak.” We agree. So let us start with Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji’s records, then we ask Obi Aguocha’s deadbrain media coven to bring their own records. Mini-stadiums in Umuahia Central, Umuahia South, Ikwuano — standing, verifiable, visited by independent observers, used by youths daily. Transformers in Umuahia, in Ikwuano, in communities outside constituency as act of brotherhood — installed, working, documented. Where are Aguocha’s transformers? Where is his mini-stadium? FCE Ofeme road in his home is still hell. Let his records speak first.

WHAT WAS SOURCE OF FUNDING FOR MINI-STADIUMS AND TRANSFORMERS?
The question is legitimate, but answer is simple and public for those who know how legislature works. A House Member does not carry Ghana-Must-Go to buy transformer. He influences through constituency intervention, through direct personal sacrifice, through lobbying MDAs, through UBEC, NDDC and like the most recently activated SEDC, Rural Electrification Agency, and through personal funds where government fails. Rt Hon Chinedum Orji did both — as Majority Leader and Speaker, he influenced state budgetary provisions and also spent personal resources when bureaucracy delayed. That is what quality representation means. Asking “which agency” as if Speaker of Abia Assembly was ordinary citizen is either ignorance or mischief.

That is the most foolish attack. Igbo Renaissance begins with brotherhood. When Chinedum Orji as Speaker built mini-stadium in Ikwuano, in Ohuhu, in Bende, it was because he was Speaker of entire Abia, not just Umuahia Central. He was father to all. Unlike Aguocha who as member of Ikwuano Umuahia Federal Constituency cannot even fix road to federal institution in his own Ohuhu home, Orji as Speaker thought beyond his constituency. That is statesmanship, not crime.

Some transformers were facilitated through Abia State Ministry of Power and REA intervention lobbied by Speaker’s office. Some were bought with personal funds when communities cried and government process was slow. Records exist in Ministry, in EEDC handing-over notes, in community acknowledgment letters. Unlike Aguocha who in 3 years has not facilitated one transformer verifiable, Orji’s transformers have locations, dates, communities who can testify. Visit Umuana, visit Ndume, visit Ajata, transformers speak.
PROCUREMENT PROCEDURES: FOLLOWED, DOCUMENTED
WERE PROJECTS SUBJECTED TO FINANCIAL AND PROCUREMENT PROCEDURES? YES.
Projects executed through Abia State Government during Orji’s speakership went through Ministry of Works, Ministry of Sports, ABROMA, Due Process Office. Contracts awarded, documented, supervised. That is why EFCC media trial cannot become conviction — because records exist. If Aguocha’s coven wants records, go to Ministry, not Facebook. Go to Due Process Office, not WhatsApp coven. The records speak, but laziness will not let them listen.

Legislation passed, local government autonomy championed, youth empowered. That is 24 years of influence with evidence, not 3 years of influence with excuses.

Good, we all want Kanu released. Moreover, Kanu’s release shall come through high powered strategic negotiation, not social media banter. Lilliputian arguments must appreciate that Kanu’s issue is Federal inclined and what must be done it what Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures which Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji was part of between 2019 and 2023 and the template of advocacy had been presented alongside Nigeria Governor’s Forum. The template we all must know, if not for public consumption. Well, we shall not be surprised if some do not know the meaning of ‘strategic’. But release Kanu via kwashiokored noise without results and Ohuhu road still hell? Release Kanu and Ohuhu transformer still dead? Effective representation is both advocacy and delivery. Orji’s advocacy was for Umuahia roads, for workers, for youths. Aguocha’s advocacy is selective, loud on radio, silent on constituency road. That is not effective, that is effective propaganda.

So why ask Orji what he did with power when you cannot show what you are doing with power now? This is democracy — you cannot hide behind questions to avoid answers.

The secret is hard work, lobbying, personal sacrifice, and love for people. Rt Hon Chinedum Orji did not need to explain every transformer with press release, he just lit communities. He did not need to explain every mini-stadium with procurement number on Facebook, he built and youths play. The secret is that Orji’s politics is delivery, Aguocha’s politics is debate. Ikwuano and Umuahia need delivery.

Transformers, mini-stadiums and bigger answer is clear: Orji delivered, Aguocha is still explaining why he cannot.
