A member of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has killed a driver converting food stuffs at toll gate Umuikaa Junction in Abia State Over his failure to issue bribe, as it was gathered by Nigerian Fact correspondent this morning.
Our reporter gathered that the ugly incident happened this morning and the civil defence officer who was the culprit, absconded to the nearest police station for safety after killing the driver.
According to an eyewitness Onwusanya Ugonna, who shared the report with Nigerian Fact, the driver was carrying food items like rice and tomatoes and was not carrying any passenger.
As at the time of filing this information the youths are angry and have destroyed the checkpoint stationed by the Civil defence.
However, the NSCDC members have deserted from the crime scene and the body is still lying at Ronald Hospital
