OHUHU TRADITIONAL RULERS CONFER CHIEFTAINCY TITLE ON HON. EMEKA ATUMA, ENDORSE HIM FOR ABIA CENTRAL SENATE
The people of Ohuhu have added a significant traditional and political dimension to the 2027 race for the Abia Central Senatorial District, as the traditional rulers of Ohuhu conferred a prestigious Chieftaincy title on “Hon. Emeka Atuma” and expressed their endorsement of his aspiration to represent Abia Central in the Senate.
The historic development took place during the “Iwa Ji Ohuhu 2026” celebration, where the Chieftaincy title-“IHIE UKWU OHUHU” was formally confirmed by the “Ndi Eze Ohuhu”, in recognition of Hon. Emeka Atuma’s connection with the people and his contributions to community development and service for humanity.
The gathering brought together traditional rulers, community leaders, stakeholders including His Excellency Ambassador Empire Kanu – former Nigerian ambassador to Argentina, His Excellency Dr Alex Otti the governor of Abia State who was represented by Hon Uzor Nwachukwu-commissioner for Local government and Chieftaincy affairs, Rt Hon Obi Aguocha- member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal constituency, Chief Smart Ihuoma-Mayor Umuahia North LGA and people of Ohuhu land, creating an atmosphere of unity, culture, and political solidarity.
The endorsement is a strong expression of confidence in Hon. Emeka Atuma’s leadership capacity, experience, accessibility, outstanding performance and commitment to effective representation.
Beyond the title and endorsement, the occasion symbolised the growing call for visionary leadership and stronger representation for the people of Abia Central. The people of Abia central requires a representative who can effectively articulate the concerns and aspirations of the people, attract sustainable development, and provide a strong voice for the senatorial district at the national level.
The conferment of the Chieftaincy title by the traditional institution of Ohuhu therefore represents more than a ceremonial honour. It reflects a relationship between leadership, culture, community recognition, and the aspirations of the people.
As the 2027 general election approaches, the political atmosphere across Abia Central continues to generate growing interest, with stakeholders assessing the individuals seeking to represent the district.
The message from Ohuhu is clear: “the quest for productive, impactful and result-driven representation must remain at the centre of the 2027 conversation.”
