Mayor Lucky Igbokwe popularly known as Don Lulu, a prominent businessman, politician, and philanthropist, has issued a heartfelt tribute to the late president of the Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohaneze, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, who passed away on Thursday.
In his tribute, Mayor Igbokwe expressed profound grief over the loss of Chief Iwuanyanwu, describing him as a “titan, mentor, and friend.” He recalled his many visits to Chief Iwuanyanwu’s home, particularly the last time they met in Abuja, where the late elder statesman went above and beyond to address issues arising from the Abia PDP gubernatorial primaries.
Mayor Igbokwe highlighted Chief Iwuanyanwu’s invaluable contributions, stating, “Chief Iwuanyanwu shared his vast life experiences, providing invaluable lessons. His dedication to uniting Ndigbo and vision for a new renaissance will forever inspire us.”

Today, we mourn the loss of a titan, a mentor, and a friend. The news of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu’s passing is a tremendous loss to me, his immediate family, his beloved wife, and his in-laws who have become part of my family.
I recall my many visits to his home, especially the last time we met in Abuja. Chief Iwuanyanwu went the extra mile for me and my team, making important calls and significant efforts to address the issues arising from the controversies surrounding the gubernatorial primaries in Abia State. His warm welcome and positive words left an indelible mark on me, and I will cherish those moments for the rest of my life.
Chief Iwuanyanwu shared his vast life experiences and journey with us, providing invaluable lessons and insights. His dedication to uniting Ndigbo and his vision for a new renaissance of great awakening for our people will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
