The Abia Central Labour Party Senatorial candidate, Senator Darlington Nwokocha has emphasized on the importance of all Labour Party candidates in the 2027 general election to work in synergy so as to achieve Unified victory. He made this known during a consultation visit to the State’s party secretariat in Umuahia, on Wednesday , September 16 2026.
While addressing the stakeholders of the party, Senator Nwokocha talks about how each LP Candidates should campaign for each other instead of campaigning for themselves alone or a selected few. He said it will be a thing of joy if each Labour Party contestants come out victorious in the 2027 general election – starting from the Senate, down to the State’s House of Assembly.
He narrated a story of how a friend of his who belongs to an opposition party, adviced him not to mention the name or campaign for other candidates when he comes to his community for campaign. In his response, be said it will be impossible for him to do such, because he won’t be campaigning for himself alone, but the entire LP Candidates who is running for an election from that constituency.
Senator Darlington also said that all other LP candidates should maintain such ideology, because if one candidate failed, the other candidates has failed as well. He also emphasized the need of all LP members and contestants to have the party in mind first instead of family and friends, even if they will be contesting for an election.
In addition, the Abia state Labour Party chairman, Hon. Peter Azubuike, said strict punishment will be served to any party member who defaulted in that aspect, emphasizing that Abia LP will not tolerate such anti-party activities in this coming 2027 election. He said the aim of Labour Party is to win all the positions that are being contested for in Abia State.
