Chris Akomas Seeks for Collaboration between the Federation and the State

In his words:

“Your Excellency we are here, it is a courtesy call on you and the government of Abia state. This is my first official visit. This visit is to appreciate all the efforts on how far we have come and to also say we are here to seek collaboration for effective and efficient improvement in the way things are done and matters are carried out to ensure fairness in the matters that has to do with the federation and indeed the interest of the state”

“I will ensure that we will all work together in collaboration and unity to ensure that Abia state is properly represented, that the federation is not find wanting in out duties. We are going to work together to ensure credible data collection.”

To curb the menace of wrong data, Dr. Chris Akomas stated that:

“Over the years we have had some challenges and some of them have to do with wrong data. You know the world have gone digital, we are also following suit”

He also stated the importance of diversification of revenue generation in the state to areas like agriculture and solid minerals deposit, but there must be proper data capturing. He also made it known that lack of capturing exact or credible data is actually affecting the state’s indices and the state itself is actually falling deficit in that area. He said that Abia state office in charge of mines is having difficulty in capturing the exact and correct data.

“Your Excellency, may I call on you and the state at this point to work in collaboration with the Ministry of Mines and Steel development to capture what should be in solid minerals”..

He also appreciated Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for understanding the dynamics of working with the federal government and the state. He appreciates the Governor’s act of non-partisanship in the governance of the state by working with every stakeholder in the state and neglecting party interests.
