As part of my commitment to human capital development, youth empowerment, and economic advancement, I pledge to establish three modern and well-equipped skills acquisition centres, one in each of the three Local Government Areas (LGAs) that make up Ikwuano/Umuahia North & South Federal Constituency I aspire to represent in the House of Representatives.
These centres will be designed to provide practical skills training, vocational education, and entrepreneurial development opportunities for our youths, women, and other interested members of our communities.
The aim is to equip our people with relevant and marketable skills that will enable them to become self-reliant, establish businesses, create employment opportunities, and contribute meaningfully to the economic development of our constituency.
The proposed centres will provide training in various areas, including information and communication technology (ICT), fashion and garment production, electrical installation, catering and hospitality, agricultural processing, modern crafts, and other vocational fields suited to the needs of our people and the opportunities available in the local economy.
By investing in the abilities and talents of our people, we can help reduce unemployment, encourage innovation, support small businesses, and build a stronger local economy.
I will work towards the actualisation of this initiative through appropriate legislative advocacy, partnerships with relevant government agencies, collaboration with the private sector, and efforts to secure the necessary resources for its implementation.
Our people deserve access to opportunities that will help them realise their potential, and I am committed to making skills development and economic empowerment important parts of my legislative agenda.
