The governorship candidate of Accord and senior pastor at Chapel of Faith International Bible Ministry, Bishop Dr. Emeka Michael Nwankpa, has revealed why he has been on the path of giving hope to women that lost their husbands, putting smiles on their faces for the past 17 years.

The renowned clergy and advocate of good governance for Abia State beyond 2023 reacted to the erroneous speculations from many quarters that his “Widows Must Smile” event that happened on 9th January 2023 had a political undertone because he was in the contest for the number one citizen of the state.

Bishop Nwankpa Reveals That He Has Been in the Business of Feeding Windows for the Past 17 Years

“Let me reecho this reality. I have heard people say that my annual event for widows that happened on 9th January 2023 was because I am contesting to be the Governor of Abia State. I never dreamt of contesting for this position 17 years ago because I have always focused on feeding the sheep in the vineyard of God where I have done marvelously well. My decision to throw my hat in the ring was borne out of the urge to contribute my quota to slaving Abia State at a higher responsibility due to the decadence, backwardness, and underdevelopment that has characterized her existence for almost 2 decades.

“Recall that around January 2023 when the first date for the widows must smile event did not work out due to logistics challenges, I had to suspend every political engagement and campaign because, to me, there is no pursuit that is worth compromising the joy of the women God has placed in my hands. I call them my “Father’ Wives” because God is their husband and I am his son, his servant.

“Rather, I had a covenant with God 17 years ago that as long as I live draw breath, no widow will cry around me. I became who i am through the help of a widow and my mother as a widow prepared me for the journey of life that brought me here because if not for widows, I wouldn’t have survived to bless others today.
“In order words, my ministry will continue after politics, my foundation ” Bishop Emeka Nwankpa Foundation” is always there to care for the widows, less privileged and indigent students who are enjoying all levels of scholarship.

“My only appeal to Abians is to look beyond sentiments and what naysayers may wish to apply to distract us and focus on the goal of supporting me to become the governor of Abia State so that the citizens will draw a sigh of relief for fur first time in a very long time as I wish to recover the state, hand it back to the people and return to my pulpit to preach Jesus Christ” he said.
