As the 2027 General Elections draw closer, Concerned Stakeholders in Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South Federal Constituency have again reiterated their position that Rt Hon Chinedum Orji who represents a model of the transformational leadership needed to move the Constituency to the next level is their choice. The explained that the polls present another opportunity for the people to choose leadership that listens to their concerns, responds to their needs and remains connected to the grassroots.

The stakeholders proffered effective leadership goes beyond occupying political positions, stressing that elected representatives must build bridges between government and the people while promoting development that improves the quality of life of constituents.
According to them, the forthcoming election will provide voters with an opportunity to assess the records, capacity and leadership credentials of the various political contenders rather than being swayed by political promises.
They cautioned citizens against politicians who make elaborate promises during election seasons but fail to translate those promises into tangible results after securing public office.
The stakeholders maintained that genuine leadership should be measured by the lives positively impacted, problems addressed and sustainable development delivered to the people.
From their assessment of candidates standing election in the Federal Constituency, they identified Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji as a model of the transformational leadership the constituency needs, citing what they described as his track record of legislative leadership, community-oriented initiatives and interventions.
According to them, Orji’s “Direct Touch Initiative,” which commenced in 2015, provided a platform through which he has maintained direct engagement with constituents and contributed to initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of people across the constituency.
The stakeholders argued that a government elected by the people must always place citizens at the centre of its policies and programmes, particularly by investing in human development, creating opportunities for young people and addressing the everyday challenges confronting communities.
They affirmed that Chinedum Orji is a politician who understands the importance of grassroots engagement and maintaining a connection with the people he seeks to represent.
“Leadership is not about the title or position; it is about the capacity to listen, identify the problems of the people and provide solutions that make a meaningful difference in their lives,” the stakeholders said.
They added that Orji’s previous experience and record in public service provide voters with a basis upon which to assess his capacity to deliver if given another opportunity to represent the constituency.
The stakeholders therefore urged the people of Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Umuahia South Federal Constituency to approach the 2027 elections with careful consideration, focusing on competence, experience, accountability and demonstrated commitment to the people.
They argue that the time has come for constituents to unite around leadership capable of responding to their aspirations and providing a stronger platform for development.
“Given what he has done in the past, we affirm that Rt Hon Chinedum Orji has demonstrated the capacity to do more and do better. The future of the constituency requires leadership that understands the grassroots and is committed to building a better future for the people,” they said.
