The latest publication by Da Willz Media, titled “Umuahia Main Market Demolition: Chinedu Orji and the Questions of Public Accountability,” is not accountability journalism.

It is a poorly disguised political attack, written to create confusion where none exists and to manufacture an issue against Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji ahead of the 2027 contest. If this is not a clear case of intellectual fatigue and inability to think straight, then the media team hired by Hon. Obi Aguocha should pause, conduct a proper mental evaluation, and stop exposing their principal to constant embarrassment.
How can the same people who see the Auditorium and Event Centre built by former Governor Theodore Ahamefule Orji standing visibly in Umuahia still ask, “Where is the land?”
How can they see the new Bus Terminal, a major public infrastructure development on the same corridor, and still pretend that the land disappeared into thin air? The land did not vanish. It has been put to public and commercial use, and the evidence is standing before every reasonable observer in Umuahia.
The former Umuahia Main Market was relocated to Ubani Ibeku in 2013 as part of a broader urban renewal and decongestion plan for the state capital. Whatever disagreements anyone may have about that policy, it is dishonest to reduce a major development decision to a childish question about “missing land.” The former market site has since hosted visible developments, including the Auditorium and Event Centre associated with the T. A. Orji administration and the new Bus Terminal now serving transportation needs in Umuahia.
These are not invisible projects. They are public landmarks that any honest commentator can see, photograph, visit, and assess.
The article itself betrays its weakness. After raising suspicions about the allocation and management of the former market land, it admits that any fair assessment of Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji’s personal responsibility must be based on his actual role, documented actions, and official records. That is precisely the point. There is no documented evidence linking Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji personally to the allocation, approval, or management of that land. Yet his name is dragged into the matter simply because he is the son of former Governor T. A. Orji.
This is the lazy politics of guilt by association. It assumes that because a man shares a family name with a former governor, he must answer for every decision taken during that administration. That reasoning is unjust, undemocratic, and intellectually bankrupt. Public office is individual. Responsibility is individual. Records are individual.
If Da Willz Media has a document showing that Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji allocated the land, signed the agreement, approved the development, or mishandled public assets, let it publish that document. Until then, it should stop hiding behind vague questions and presenting speculation as investigation.
It is also important to remind the writers that public assets are not the private property of any political family, including the family of Obi Aguocha. The same principle they invoke against others applies to them.
If they truly believe in transparency, they should begin by accounting for Hon. Aguocha’s own stewardship in the House of Representatives. Let them publish his constituency projects, his legislative achievements, his interventions in Ikwuano and Umuahia, and the measurable benefits his representation has brought to the people. Let them explain why, after years in office, their best defence of their principal is an attack on another man’s family name.
The people of Ikwuano/Umuahia are not fools. They can distinguish between genuine public accountability and desperate political propaganda. They know that a man who cannot defend his own record will always attack another man’s past. They know that a media team that cannot produce evidence will always hide behind questions, insinuations, and recycled allegations.
We therefore call on the public to ask Hon. Obi Aguocha to take a rest and bow out honourably before the ninth tier POS operators he hired as a media team completely finishes him. His recent public appearances and the increasingly embarrassing output of his media handlers suggest a campaign that has lost direction, discipline, and credibility.
A man seeking reelection should be defended by facts, performance, and service, not by hired commentators who confuse abuse for strategy and confusion for communication.
Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji remains focused on the people, on service, and on an issue based contest.
He does not need to respond to every irresponsible post. But when a media team repeatedly insults the intelligence of Ndi Abia, it becomes necessary to say plainly that the people deserve better.
Let the 2027 contest be about records, capacity, accessibility, and results.
Let Hon. Aguocha present his own achievements. Let him face Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji in an open debate on stewardship. Until then, his media team should stop embarrassing him, stop insulting the people, and stop pretending that visible public developments in Umuahia are invisible simply because they do not fit a failed political narrative.
