The immediate past Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, on Wednesday received the 2027 Abia APC governorship candidate, Chief Eric Opah, in his ongoing appreciation tour of the 17 local government areas of the state.

The visit to Umunneochi Local Government Area formed part of Chief Opah’s thank you visit to party members and stakeholders for their support during the APC governorship primary election and to further strengthen unity within the party ahead of the 2027 general election.

Welcoming the governorship candidate and his entourage, Hon. Onyejeocha, who is the APC candidate for Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency election, commended the party members for their commitment and urged them to remain united and focused on the common goal of returning President Tinubu and winning for all other candidates of the party.

Chief Opah in his address, expressed profound appreciation to the APC members in Umunneochi for their massive support throughout the primary process.

“I have come to sincerely thank you for standing with us during the governorship primary election. Your confidence in our aspiration is deeply appreciated, and I remain committed to building an inclusive government that will serve the interests of all Abians,” Opah told party members.

He reiterated his call for reconciliation within the party, urging all members, irrespective of the candidates they supported during the primary election, to work together for the success of the APC in 2027.

Chief Opah also maintained that his appreciation tour was not for campaign, noting that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had not lifted the embargo on electioneering campaigns.

Party leaders and stakeholders present at the meeting pledged their unalloyed support for President Tinubu’s reelection, Chief Opah’s candidacy and all other candidates of the party, expressing optimism that the APC would emerge victorious in the 2027 general election.

The appreciation tour is expected to continue across other local government areas as Chief Opah engages party members and appreciates them for their support during the party’s governorship primary election.

The meeting ended with party leaders reaffirming their commitment to the APC and also expressed confidence that unity within the party would strengthen its chances in the 2027 general election.

The Deputy governorship candidate, Dr. Godswill Agu Egbe, the Director General of the Eric Opah Campaign, Chief Charles Ogbonna, Elder John Nwamkporogwu and other stakeholders were present at the meeting.
