The State Chairman of the Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria(OMPAN) Abia State Chapter Chief Promise Uzoma Okoro has declared that members of the association in the state are not stooge of government in power nor attack dogs of opposition Political Parties.
In a Statement released on Monday in Umuahia, the State Chairman of OMPAN said as members of the fourth estate of the realm, OMPAN believes in Impartiality and Fairness to all in every material Circumstance.
“Most stories have at least two sides. While there is no obligation to present every side in every piece, stories should be balanced, and in our attempt to balance it, nobody should see us as stooge or attacks dogs”
“We are Independent Voices in OMPAN, We cannot act, formally or informally, on behalf of any special interests whether political, corporate or cultural, everyone will be given the opportunity to tell their stories”
The Chairman dismissed insinuations in some quarter that the Association is now a stooge in the hands of the present Administration in Abia State and tagged it an ‘opposition blackmail’.

He said under his watch, the Members of the Association will continue to build solid relationships Accross boards and contribute their quota to the development of Abia.
