As the March 11 governorship polls draws near, the All Progressives Congress flag bearer in Abia State, High Chief Ikechi Emenike, says part of the disconnect in Abia is the inability of previous administrations in the State to have that connection with Abians in diaspora regarding the policies and programmes of their administration.
Chief Emenike emphasized that this has further led to loss of interest by Abians in diaspora to what is happening in their own State, noting that they only call once in a while to inquire about the current happenings in the state. He said his administration is ready to make a turn around from this sad situation.
Chief Emenike, who made this known through his media aide, Prince Tony Eze, said part of his plans to connect with Abians in diaspora will be to create a full-fledged Ministry of Diaspora Affairs to offer those outside the shores of this country a sense of inclusion and keep them abreast of day-to-day activities of his administration.
He noted that the State and her citizens outside Abia, would achieve a lot together if they work in synergy, stating that if he emerges Governor, he will ensure a good working relationship with Abians in general which will lead to massive infrastructural development in the state.

High Chief Emenike, revealed that the Ministry if created, will ensure that his administration and Abians in general, tap into the expertise, exposure, resources and experience of these compatriots who are doing exceptionally well in their countries of sojourn, stating that Abia will gain massively from it.
The technocrat also hinted on plans for the Traditional Institutions, informing that the Traditional rulers will play pivotal roles in ensuring that Abians are giving the dividends of democracy they have lacked for the past 24 years, adding that he will respect the sanctity of the traditional institutions.
