Women across the six wards in Uhie, Obingwa LGA, Abia State on Friday presented expression of interest and nomination forms to a renowned philanthropist Hon Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, endorsing him to represent them in the Abia State House of Assembly.
Recall that Erondu Jnr. had on Thursday while meeting critical stakeholders in Obingwa, declared his interest to run for the seat of Obingwa West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly.
Speaking during a courtesy visit at the country home of Erondu Erondu Jnr, in Azuogwugwu in Obingwa LGA, Mrs Ijeoma Ngozi, said due to his philanthropic gestures, Uhie women, decided to appreciated him for imparting the lives of the less privileged by procuring expression of interest and nomination forms for him to represent them in the Abia State House of Assembly.
She said his various philanthropic works, are testimonies that he will represent their interest when he finally emerges as a sole candidate to represent Obingwa West Constituency, praying God to reward him.
Presenting the expression of interest and nomination forms to Hon. Erondu Jnr, the leader of the delegation and Deputy Chairperson, Obingwa LGA, Mrs Oluoma Nwogu, said Erondu Jnr a.k.a, Igodo Igwe, has touched the lives of many across board, adding that he has set records in the LGA.
She said through his philanthropic gestures, he has shown that he has the capability to represent their interest in the State House of Assembly, stressing that with him, they are sure of better life among other goodies.
Mrs Nwogu, revealed that having counted the various philanthropic works by Igodo, Uhie women numbering about 200, tasked themselves N5000 to buy expression of interest and nomination forms, praying God to protect him in his quest to represent Obingwa West State Constituency in the House of Assembly.
Contributing, a former LGA Chairman of Obingwa, Hon. Chidiebere Ihenyirimadu a.k.a Jato, appreciated the women for sowing the seed and purchasing expression of interest and nomination forms for Igodo, adding that they have shown that there is reward for hard work.
He lauded them for making out time out of their busy schedule to identify with him, saying they have written their names in the annals of history.
Responding, Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, who was overjoyed, appreciated the women for this singular act, stressing that it is not easy to make out time out of their busy schedules to show solidarity all these while.
He used the medium to caution those who have been engaged in propaganda, reiterating that while the are busy spreading lies on Facebook, he is busy facing work, adding that his philosophy has always been to face the business of touching lives.
Hon. Erondu Jnr. said his signature is evident in the 6 wards in Obingwa, challenging them to show their scorecard, while urging his supporters, not to be perturbed by the various propaganda peddled by rivals in the business. saying those who allege that he is not accessible should continue being accessible while rain continue to wreak havoc among their mothers.
He stated that he is not a party to an election that it’s results will be written in Umuahia or Abuja and announced over the radio, maintaining that he believes in a transparent election where the results will be counted openly for all to see and celebrate together.
Erondu promised that his emergence will herald development in all ramifications, pointing out that 2023 will bring good tidings.
