The 2023 Accord Governorship Candidate in the contest for the occupation of Abia’s seat of power, Bishop Emeka Michael Nwankpa, has revealed his reasons for joining the race to rescue Abia state from further spiraling into the rabbit hole of underdevelopment, unprogressive, and helpless state of squalor she has found herself for decades, saying that Abia has come to a level where men that call on God must intervene to save her.
Bishop Nwankpa made this known in a brief message he delivered during the 17th Annual Widows Must Smile ceremony, his covenant program with God where he blesses as many as every widow that finds herself at his residence on 9th January 2023. The event ended well to the glory of God.
Citing many instances in the Bible where God raises men to rescue his people, and using Elijah as a point of reference. Bishop Nwankpa pointed out that the sorry state of Abia and the many cries of his servants has reached God and therefore need to be tackled with the urgency of the moment.
“When a problem defiles all solutions, we take It to God at the altar. Abia is in a sorry state, I have come to rescue her from the people holding her down for too long. In a state that cannot pay workers salaries for months, with no infrastructure, no good health care system for the people, with no hope for her unemployed youths, it is only a man coming from the alter that can deliver her from those holding her captive and return the state to the people who are the original owners.

“I am coming from the altar, I prayed to God fervently before I joined the race, that is why I know I will do well, I will do what I have said I will do so that after the assignment I can go back to my pulpit and preach. I am very much aware that if I fail to deliver my promises to the people, I will not have the face to go back and preach. if I do not do well, I will have nothing to preach about, then hold me my word.
“A state that will let her workers go for Christmas without salaries and backlog of arrears needs help from God. That is why his servant has risen to the occasion. We must rescue Abia. Give me your votes and see the hand of God retake the state, after that, I will go back to my pulpit because I am not a politician, I am answerable to no godfather.”, he said.
The bold and fearless clergyman has always made it clear that do not belong to any power-sharing blocs, neither is he a stooge to any godfathers that always seek to plunder the state. He is out on his own accord on God’s instructions, he intends to follow God’s instruction to the letter until Abia State is salvaged and returned to the path of righteousness and the foundation of God who made her the only state in the Bible.
